“Teach, Restore, Paint” Works by Adele Pruitt
Exhibition Dates: January 7 - January 30, 2022
Reception: Friday, January 7, 2022, 12-8 PM
At 99 years young, Adele’s first work as a paid artist began at the age of five, painting ceramics to help her struggling family. From there, she went on to become a multi-media artist, using encaustic, starch, oil paints and watercolor to create hundreds of paintings over the period of her life. Additionally, Adele owned and operated the Renaissance Gallery in Ukiah for decades, providing the community with one of the only storefronts for custom framing and art restoration. She has been an instructor in painting, life-drawing, Old World techniques and art restoration for about a half-century, following a career as a public-school teacher. She currently continues to teach and paint at her studio, Pruitt’s Fine Art Restoration, located in Ukiah.
Arguably one of Adele’s most comprehensive exhibits, Medium is featuring a variety of her work including abstracts, landscapes and portraiture. We will also display a special section of works demonstrating Adele’s immense facility as an art restorer.
