"Pieced Together" Community Collage Workshop

Join Medium Art Gallery this Thursday, November 16th, at 6:00 PM for a free art collage workshop! This will be one in a series of monthly workshops exploring how substance abuse impacts wider groups, even at a distance. Build a new strange world, tell a story or set an intention. All source material and supplies are provided.

Use artistic tools to envision a different future and directly explore the ramifications of substance abuse. These workshops will provide healing, discussion, skill-building, support, and connection through creative expression.

With support from Upstate California Creative Corps, the Deep Valley Arts Collective has created a project called "Pieced Together: Recovery Through Art" that will provide people recovering from substance abuse with guided art workshops. Working directly with established substance abuse programs and organizations, they will connect community members with an extended opportunity to create art, form community bonds, and build resilience. The collage workshops will culminate in an art exhibition in a gallery setting, documentation in the form of a book, and a multimedia art presentation.
